Fumiyuki Ishii

Fumiyuki Ishii (Professor)

Born in Okayama, Japan. Received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Physical Sciences from Hiroshima University.
After working as a JSPS Research Fellow (PD) and a researcher in the ERATO Tokura Spin Superstructure Project (JST), he joined Kanazawa University as Assistant Professor, later Associate Professor, and is currently Professor.

Visiting positions include AIST (2006–2008), Forschungszentrum Jülich (2008–2009), ISSP, The University of Tokyo (2018–2019), and RIKEN CEMS (2018–2023).

Research fields: Condensed matter theory, computational materials physics, first-principles electronic structure calculations (OpenMX, HiLAPW)
Materials studied include transition metal oxides, organic solids, and intermetallic compounds.
